We are intrigued by the prophecies of Nostradamus and the Mayan Calendar signifying the end of the world on December 21, 2012.

Are we prepared?Or maybe GOD does have better plans?Or maybe GOD decides to talk to somebody as he does to Noah in building The ARK on how we can saves ourselves?

Or maybe we can ask Criss Angel ,will it happen?You saw the episodes where he predicted the Lottery?Or maybe Criss knows something that we do not know?

I watched Evan Al Mighty on cable tv which starred Steve Carrell,and Morgan Freeman as the Al Mighty himself.

Does GOD read blogspot?Is he a blogger?

Olympics Ping Pong China Vs Singapore

I was watching the match between China & Singapore & seeing how they constantly wipe the floor off sweats with their shoes.

Perhaps in future the floor are made of material that evaporates water fast.Or temperature heated floors.

An idea of the future maybe?

My personal opinion for success in the Olympics

I think future athletes in Singapore can perform better in the Olympics with a team of dietitians,psychologist aiding the team in terms of nutrition & mental strength.

Or maybe engaged a motivational speaker,guru for the team.

For soccer maybe engaged a world class manager,coach.The price would be costly but helps Singapore to improve in the world arena.

What I would like to see at the next year 2009 National Day Parade

-Maybe the submarine popping up out of the waters,to the tune of "Jaws" theme song.

-Old historic video to be re-dgitized so have that DVD quality.

-Maybe the UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)

-Should clean the interior of the cockpit if video to be shown from the cockpit.Dusty.

-Retractable shelter for the audience just in case it rains again.

-Made in Singapore Formula 1 car.

Water dew collection ?

I remember watching a documentary on tv that shows how water can be collected if you are outside camping.The idea was to trap/collect water dew in the early morning of the day,using a plastic bag placed on a hole digged on the ground.A process called CONDENSATION if I not mistaken.

What if in future,every housing has this water dew collection at the top of the building,then filtered to go through every household.The water can be either used for flushing or cleaning.Either way if the water can be filtered for safe drinking

Just an idea how to collect & recycle water.Possible?

Nanochips embedded devices in the body for the future

I ever saw body modifications done in the world,like those who inserts ball-bearings to the surface of their skin as a form of body art,like tattoo.

Technology will become more advance in the future,with the introduction of nano technology in fabrication of wafer and eventually lead to the creation of smaller nanodevices.

Imagine a form of security devices embedded under the palm of your hand,that you can open car,door or access security enabled hardware in the future.

How to fight wildfire?

I recently read this case of wildfire happening in a country.Then it came across to me an idea,why not use water-bombs.I remember playing with balloons filled with water when I was young.

Can use water as a payload,then this hydrabomb can be guided to a specific destination like a forest fire etc.A timer can be added,such that the water can be released at a determined time.

You watched the movie Ironman?,where the missile "Jericho" was introduced by the character Tony Stark,the missile has smaller missile encapsulated in 1 missile.

Same concept here,or the payload can be nitrogen/compressed carbon dioxide?

Will your dream come true?

I recently saw this ad on TV that allows viewers to vote for kids who's going to The Olympics as a junior journalist.So many kids,but three were chosen.Yes,of course you made the dream of these 3 kids came true,what about the dream of the others.Give ALL of them a chance for heaven sake,since you are such a big fast food restaurant.Be like Ellen or Oprah,be generous,make someone dream come true.

What to do,life ain't that fair right?keep on dreaming,who knows your dream still might come true.

Does your mind works like a hard disk?

Have you ever dream of something,and then you woke up and think,"Hey,didn't I try to forget that part of my life?".Like a hardisk in a computer,if you deleted something,it does not means the information will be deleted forever,it just tells the computer that the available space is ready to be rewritten?Just like you brain,sometimes you try to forget something,then it somehow pop up again like in a dream.

Kinelar-my imaginary thoughts of the future energy source

Isn't it better to have a combined form of energy kinetic & solar energy?I would call it KINELAR,a combo of kinetic & solar energy.As long as there is movement,like the kinetic watches you find in the market.But how do we amplify these low energy to a higher level?
A form of "quickswitch" is needed so that a fast switch between kinetic & solar energy .So you ask me what if the solar fails,then?then we need to look into how these 2 form of energies can be stored.

Why no kevlar vest?

I saw the police patrolling public places like MRT.It's good that they provide a sense of security on public places for the citizens.

But my question is,why no kevlar vest?Or do we assume the water is safe,we do not need life-vest?We assume,that nothing will ever happen?We assume that possible attackers will only carry plastic for & spoons to attack & we can subdue the attacker with unarmed combat?

Regret in year 2008

I regretted not taking up the job offer a few months after I was retrenched.I need to take break.I went to reservist serving my last In camp training with my camp mates.Defer also need to serve 1 more in camp,owe 1 pay 1.OIPI=Owe In camp Pay In camp.

After reservist I thought was easy to find a job.Realized that quite difficult!Wanted to look for I.T job.Then realized that I.T job wants specific soft skills,certifications.Hey,if you don't give me a chance to start off as a fresh-entry level,how an I supposed to learn?

Then I abandoned thoughts of getting a career in I.T.Look to search for semiconductor sector which I am familiar with.

Why did my company close shop anway?factory rent too expensive?employ 1 engineer here can employ 2-3 engineer elsewhere?Here the place is rented,other country the whole buidling is built can support the company till it goes bankrupt I guess.

Are we too engrossed in this material world?

The death of my mother makes me wonder what is it like to die?We left everything behind,cash,career,family,house,car.
All that we pursue in life comes to nothing?What is the meaning of this life?God create us to make this world ticks is it?1 less person also does not makes a different.You talk about wanting to change the world,wanting to make friends,wanting to make enemies your friend,wanting to make 2 different group of people divided,separated by a invisible line.

Has it comes to a point in time where the rules & regulations need to be revised?

When will I start a family?

Born in the generation into a middle income family makes me wonder would I like my future children have the life that I have?,to suffer like I do,to being a parents trying to make ends meet just like parents?or maybe not getting married at all?or maybe get married till financially & career wise I am stable enough to give my kids what they really desire?

Or by the time I stop thinking maybe I am too old.....

More grants for skills enhancement programme

I recently went to an I.t seminar that offers skills which I think are very good.My desire to take up this skills are burning.What lets me down is the high price which i don't blame the skills center as they employed experienced tutors in the field to coach students.About $13000 $15000 to $20000 for specific courses.These are hands-on courses as they have the equipment

How dissapointing that they are not given study grants ,subsidies.

I aborted the idea then.

Anyone has $20000 to spare to make me realize my dream?Or maybe I will save up,by the time i am a senior citizen already.

Borrow from a bank?loan agency?Are you kidding?will they borrow a jobless person with a burning desire to learn & upgrade?Perhaps the loan agency can advise me,"ask your friends to borrow on your behalf".

Is other company spying on other company via job interview?

I recently went to a job interview.After asking about my skills & experience,the interviewer asked me about the processes in my old company.The interviewer dilligently wrote down all I said at the back of the interview paper.Do i have the right to refuse to answer in the future?

Imagine the hundreds of people who turned up for this interview,the people who work in the same industry,the people who spoke about the things happening in their current company or old company.Will the interviewer implement these processes in their current company.

Ended up the company getting better,while many wasted their time,effort,money to appear on the interview day itself.

Since then I have not heard from this company.

From Micro To Nano technology

Will the future devices be smaller?Compact?Can squeeze more into a single wafer die,and squeeze more die into a single Integrated chip.

Learn another language,higher chance of getting employed

I am quite puzzled about some job advertisement saying "speaks this language preferred for working with this language customers".Why not "this customers" speaks a common language or learn a common language.

Even a big country is learning other language because the world is coming to their country for an important event.

Yesterday I saw an old auntie trying to top up her bus transport card and was unhappy that it charges extra 20cents,from 30cents to 50cents.

Funny that sometimes someone complaints about a few cents while others spend a lot on luck like lottery or jackpot.

The future as I see it

I saw that nowadays children in Singapore are exposed to the computer interne,handheld games like Nintendo,Sony PSP.So in the future ,when they grow ups they should not have problems handling equipments that are so hi-tech,

In my opinion,these Nintendo games,PSP games are not bad.They trained the minds & hand reflexes.They make the player think over how to overcome obstacles.

My own nephew started reading the Nintendo games scenarios(the part where they show bits of comics before the games starts.)My niece know how to overcome obstacles in the Sony PSP game Tomb raider.I was surprised to see how clever she is and she taught the younger brother to play.

And who is the one to buy all these mind-boggling games?Me,of course,the generous uncle.

Sometime life is not all about scoring good grades in schools,it's how you overcome the hurdles in your life.

COME ON!BRING ALL THE TECHNOLOGY OF TOMORROW!COZ I KNOW MY KIDDOS ARE READY!

Money no enough 2 -Jack Neo movie.

I watched Jack neo's Money no enough 2 movie.I watched part 1 of the movie,funny.So much true to life.In part 2,the character Ah Hui was taking care of his diabetic mother.Similar to what I went through,so sad that the actress playing the sickly mother,the face has a quite similar resemblance to my late mother.So sad that I cried a few times.

How I wished I could have done more for my late mother.Like getting a maid for my mother.Living expenses in Singapore are high.making ends meet monthly with the salary that I earn.

The opportunity to get a maid in Singapore came when I was about to be retrenched,getting lump sum package for retrenchment.I calculate that it is possible since now I have the money.But sadly,mother passed before.She fell down one day in the bathroom while I was working,my dad who was not strong enough dragged her to the bedroom.Waited till i got home then i carried her to bed.She then has phobia getting around the house and was bedridden.
Wanted to send her to hospital but old people seems to have this saying,"If I want to die ,I rather die in my own house".Few days before mum passed,she asked my auntie to call me at work,mum was mumbling ,i told her "go & eat".Strangely enough I have a few days off from work & then she passed away.

The few scenes that I find similarities to my personal life in that movie:
1)Diabetic mother
2)Passes urine on bed.In my experience,my mother was using adult pampers,she sometimes change it herself,but as you know sometimes the urine faeces would end up on the mattress.
3)The scarifice she make for her granddaughter.In my experience,my mother as if she knows that it is better for her to go than let me use up my money to get a maid.She passed away when I was at home ,not at work,is this a way of her saying her last goodbye?
4)The discussion of family siblings what to do for mother well-being.

Auto response system in recruitment agencies?

Recruitment agencies are growing like mushrooms in Singapore.So when you are jobless,you sign up to this job websites.You apply to hundreds of job ads.Is there really a human being at the other end of the table reading your resume and impressed with your credentials and the length of service you give to your ex-company?OR IS THERE AN AUTO RESPONDER SYSTEM SAYING SOMETHING LIKE THESE "THANK YOU FOR SENDIND YOUR EMAIL,WE WILL CONTACT YPU SHORTLY IF YOU ARE SHORTLISTED".

Days,weeks,months passed by and you were waiting for that jackpot phone call from your potential employer .So ,one fine day someone called,but it was from the recruitment agency asking you more question!Questions like "are you willing to work overseas?you have this & that experience",and in your heart you wonder wether this person has actually read your resume.and the phone conversation ended and you wait again.months has passed by then.

Some recruitment agencies/companies have the courtesy of letting you know your application has been unsuccessful.Others don't even bother!

What happen to the resume you sent?did it goes into Twilight Zone?

Why company need experienced potential employees?

I believe some of you your interest suddenly shifted from being in an industry for many boring years to an industry that caught your eye,or an industry that is booming?SO WHAT DID YOU DO?You went to take a degree course,completed it and started hunting for job.

And then you realized that potential employers need specialized skills,and at least a 1 year experience.Not many employees are doing this,employing "fresh graduates".A diploma holder maybe,so overall the cost of employing a fresh graduate is much cheaper.

No experineced employess are better as they have the DRIVE of learning new things.Experienced ones maybe got bored of doing same thing more than a decade of their career,all they want is more pay,job hopping & hopping for that pay increase.

PLEASE,IT'S THE JOB OFEMPLOYERS TO TRAIN THE INEXPERIENCED POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES. COME ON,IS THE BUDGET COST TO HIGH?FACTORY ,OFFICE SPACE RENT TOO HIGH IS IT?

SO YOU EXPERIENCED WORKERS BETTER UPGRADE YOURSELF WITH NEW SKILLS,YOU THINK YOU CAN SIT IDLING AT THE COMFORT OF YOUR CAREER UNTIL YOU RETIRE?HAVE YOU GIVEN THOUGHT WHEN YOUR COMPANY WILL RETRENCH YOU?

How to survive being jobless in Singapore

1)Make sure you have a hobby WHEN YOU HAVE A JOB,collecting toys,watches,jade etc so that suppose that you cannot find job after you are retrenched,slowly sell off your collection either at ebay,yahoo auction or flea market.

2)Suppose that you just finished serving National Service and started a new job,start buying investment type insurance so that you can terminate them after 5-10 years,or after being retrenched.
